> Reaction
1) Mgcl² + Ca(OH)² -----> Mg(OH)² + CaCl²
2) Cacl² + H²So4 ------> CaSo4 + 2HCL
3) MgCl² + H²So4 ------> MgSo4 + 2HCL
> Process
- In the industrial production of MgSo4 & CaSo4 first of all mixed salt bittern is first taken in a reactor.
- Ca( OH)² from line treatment tank is also charge into the reactor.
- Due to reactor precipitation of the Mg(OH)² is obtained.
- filter the mass in filter press to remove precipitation of Mg(OH)² which is dry pulverised & packed.
- Filtrate is further taken in a treatment tank when it is treatted with H²So4 .
- Dut to reaction with H²So4 in MgSo4 CaSo4 salt are formed.
- Now heat the solution to get CaSo4 which filter & remaining filtrate is further taken in chilling tank, when temperature is down to almost 10°C , so crystal of MgSo4 is obatin.
> Uses
Use Of MgSo4 ( Magnesium Sulfate)
1] They are used in madical,agriculture, food, preparation, chemistry, marine etc....
2] Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is also used to maintain the magnesium conc. in marine aquari which contain large amounts of stony corals as slowly depleted in their calcification process.
3] In a magnesium deficient of stabilize of ions
Used of the CaSo4 (Calcium sulfate)
1] The main used of calcium sulfate is to product plaster of paris & stucco.
Used Of Mg(OH)² ( magnesium hydroxide)
1] There are used in precusor to Mgo, health meltabolism, milk of magnesia, waste water treatment etc....
2) Industrial production of MgCo³
> Reaction
Mgcl² + Na²Co³ -----> Mgco³ + 2 Nacl
> Process
- Magnesium carbonet is basically produce by reation of sea bittern & sodium carbonet.
- first of all sea bettern which basically contain mgcl² is taken in jacketed reactor.
- Here heating provided by steam.
- Now charge paste of Na²Co³ in warm bittern solution till. precipitation due to reaction between the sea bittern & Na²co³ precipitation I of Mgco³ obtain.
- Filter the all mass in filter press & than give wash of water to remove chloride.
- Afret filtration & washing mass is taken in dryer & dry above 110°C
- Dry mass is pulverised to get desired find powder which is stored in polythene bag or suitable container
> Uses
1] The primary use of magnesium carbonate is the production of magnesium oxide by calcining magnesite & dolomite minerals are produce refrado brick.
3) Industrial Production Of Na²Sio³
Sodium ailicate is produced from sodium carbonate( Na²Co³) & silica
- In the industrial production first of all sodium carbonate & silica is taken in to fusion kettle here littel amont of water is added.
- Now in the kettle mixture is fused to 1400°C & then after fusion mass in taken the cooling chamber, where it is cool down slowly.
- There fore clear light bluish green crystal fromed sodium silicate is obtain.
- if the material is to be sold in from of the solution of the product dissolve in water.
> Used
1] In 1990 4M tons of alkali meral silicate were produced.
2] The main application were in detergent, pepar, water treatment & construction materials.
3] Sodium silicate is frequently used in drilling fluids to stabilize borehole wells & to avoid the collapse of bore walls.
